Empowering Drivers Through Professional Development

In Uganda’s rapidly evolving transport sector, the importance of driver professionalism cannot be overstated. The Uganda Professional Drivers’ Network (UPDN) has continued to champion Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programs aimed at equipping drivers with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to navigate today’s road safety and logistical challenges. These CPD training sessions go beyond basic driving techniques. They include modules on ethical conduct, stress management, first aid, fuel efficiency, and customer service. Through hands-on sessions and classroom engagements, drivers gain confidence and competence, making Uganda’s roads safer and the transport sector more efficient. UPDN is proud to have trained thousands of drivers since its inception, with more programs scheduled throughout 2025. We encourage driver employers, government bodies, and associations to partner with us to scale up this impactful initiative. “A skilled driver is not just an asset to the company—they’re a pillar of public safety.” – UPDN
